Rose Hill Movers

Rose Hill, sporting a name from a historic era of New York City, is a timeless Manhattan neighborhood. Sometimes mistakenly considered part of NoMad, the enclave is bounded by Murray Hill to the north, Kips Bay to the east, Flatiron and Gramercy to the south, and Midtown South and NoMad to the west. Classic yet eclectic, Rose Hill is an older community that still shines bright as one of Manhattan’s hidden gems.

Whether you find yourself drawn to Rose Hill or a new neighborhood, you need a trustworthy and reliable company to entrust with your belongings. Moving in Manhattan presents several challenges – city streets, multiple floors, narrow hallways, steep stairs – and you need a crew that can safely and securely get you situated. The Movers NYC is the company you’ve been looking for, and we back it up with decades of experience and many happy customers!

What to Know Before Moving to Rose Hill

As a smaller, older, and more eclectic Manhattan neighborhood, Rose Hill is a pleasant getaway from the more touristy and congested areas that surround the enclave.

Neighborhood Tidbits

In the 19th century, Rose Hill was home to a five-acre botanical garden, women’s seminary, and a boarding house and hotel for the well-heeled. Rose Hill’s name – which is inspired by a place called Rose Hill Park in the Bronx – was more prominent in the 18th and 19th centuries, but as time went on, it became less commonly used. This is why you’ll hear the enclave referred to as part of NoMad, the Manhattan neighborhood to the west (which gets its own name from being North of Madison Square Park).

Amenities And Attractions

Dotted with shops and restaurants – more on eats below – Rose Hill offers a pleasant residential experience and a host of amenities. Madison Square Park, which is a big plus for many residents, is just southwest of the neighborhood. Along with Madison Square Park, you’ll find many other parks to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. For math lovers, the National Museum of Mathematics is just west of the enclave. Those looking for furnishings should definitely check out Suite NY for modern furniture from European and American designers. Also, both Times Square and Central Park are only 15-20 minutes away via subway.

Types Of Buildings

From shiny office buildings on Park Avenue South to the Baruch College & School of Visual Arts to sleepy streets filled with nostalgic structures, Rose Hill is a place of historic and assorted buildings. And due to the sloping nature of its side streets, Rose Hill offers stunning views of the cityscape, world-famous parks, and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.

Lifestyle

Removed from the more touristy elements of this part of Manhattan, Rose Hill exudes both an atmosphere of heritage and charm. Often confused for being part of NoMad, this enclave has its own flavor. This is an older neighborhood, but that doesn’t mean it’s stuffy. Offering a more eclectic and cozier feel, Rose Hill is the perfect option for those wanting insulation from the typical bustle while having easy access to everything that makes New York City shine.
